Christmas Dress up day

Aloha bloggers!
Last week we had a Christmas dress. All of us dressed up in something Christmas! We all had to bring a gold coin donation for our Christmas hampers. We also put paint on our faces. The jump jam team performed 'Santa Claus Is Coming To Town' in our Friday assembly. Also our school was decorated with Christmas trees, sign and lights.
Here are some photos of the day!

One thing that was awesome was how we donated money for the school hampers. Also it was really fun painting faces and doing Jump jam. The assembly was pretty cool too. There was also lots of amazing clothes that people wore that day. My favourite part was probably Jump jam in assembly.

Tri Star Gymnastics!

Hey bloggers! For the past few weeks we have been doing gymnastics at school and at Tri Star! We had one 45 minute session at Tri star and then another which was 1 hour long. Before we went to Tri Star, we had sessions on other days in our school hall. There were obstacles like trampolines, foam pit, beam and more that I don't the name for. We also did rotations with the coaches.  We walked down to Tri Star Gymnastics since it was pretty close to our school. We went on a Wednesday and a Monday.
Here are some pictures!

I think that Gymnastics this year was really fun and enjoyable. I liked every part of gymnastics except for walking to and from school to Tri Star. Jumping on the trampoline was really fun too. Do you do gymnastics at your school? Here is the the link to there website. Click here for the link! Feel free to leave a positive helpful and thoughtful comment.

Summer Learning Journey - Practise

Hey bloggers! Today we are going to be practising the Summer Learning Journey for the holidays coming up soon. Megan (Someone who runs it I think) came in to tell us everything about it. We had to pick 1 country out of 10. The first activity we had to put in why you would visit. I picked Japan
Here are some of the reasons why.
  • The first reason I picked Japan was because I want to see a sumo wrestling match in real life.
  • The second reason I want to visit Japan is because I want by one of those square
  • Another reason I want to go to Japan is that there is an island full of rabbits that I want to visit
  • There is also 70 different flavour of Fanta in Japan and there's one flavour that's called the 'hip hop' flavour that I want to try
  • There's a bird named 'The Red Crowned Crane
And if I visit Japan, there is a hotel that's staffed by robots that I'm would stay the night in.

For the second activity we have to write  facts about our country. Here are some facts about Japan.

  • The population of Japan is 127.1 million
  • The main cities of Japan is Tokyo (The Capital), Kyoto, Sendai, Osaka.

  • There are over 50,000 people who are over 100 over years in Japan.
  • Late-night dancing in Japan was illegal until 2015
  • Japan suffers of 1,500 earthquakes a year

I'm really happy that I chose Japan. Its looks really cool and the facts about Japan are mind-blowing. Are you doing the Summer learning journey! Feel free to leave a positive comment. Here is the link to the summer learning  journey Blog you later!

Athletics day!

Hey Bloggers! I'm back. A few weeks ago was our Athletics day held at our school on the 2nd of November. There were a range of different sports and rotations (that the teachers ran)  in our age groups. There were 12 events and 6 actual rotations because some groups didn't have time to do both activities within the rotation. I was in the 10/11 year old girls. Some sports that were in the rotation were; long jump, high jump, 400 metre run, sprints, shotput and at the end of the day we had relays with the whole school. We had to be dressed up in house colours (Tui = Yellow Pukeko = Green Kea = Red Ruru = Blue) and it had to be appropriate for running.
Here are some photos of the day.

How were the photos? I think that Athletics day is a great way to have fun and learn. At each rotation, every teach marked us on behaviour/attitude, sportsmanship and how we moved between the stations. Whoever got the highest marks in age categories got ice blocks. Also,  does your school do an Athletics day? Feel free to leave positive, helpful and thoughtful comment.

Pasifika Peter Pan Production - Thinking Hats!

Aloha Bloggers, Shabeera here. Last week we had our School Production named Pasifika Peter Pan. Pasifika Peter Pan is like Peter Pan but with a Pasifika Twist. The twist was going to different places in the Pacific in Neverland. This was held at Waikowhai Intermediate's Hall. Every single person in the school was part of the Production, but the years 5/6 were playing as the main characters. (The other classes were in an item). There were 2 evening performances on Wednesday and Thursday. There was also Matinee performance on Friday. After the Production was finished, we made a copy of a slideshow that had all the thinking hats and we had to fill them in and work on it.
Here is my Thinking hats work and some of the photos of our production.

How did you think of the photos and my slideshow? My favourite part of our Production was all the Pirate scenes, the Mermaid dance and the end dance that we always do. What would you think would be your favourite part of our Production? I think next time people should turn up to the rehearsals and . Feel free to leave a positive, helpful and thoughtful comment.
